DESCRIPTION:NanoLumCat Ostrava Workshop: Revealing the Future of Light Tra
nsformation\nProject: Experimental and theoretical studies of near-infrare
 d-emitting and chiral carbon dot Luminophores\, RRC/2023/00734.\nWhen: 2 M
 arch 2026\nWhere: IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Center\nNanoLumCa
t Ostrava 2026 is a 2-day international workshop focused on carbon dots an
 d single-atom photocatalysis\, highlighting their role in next-generation
nanomaterials for renewable energy applications. Participants will explore
synthesis\, photophysical properties\, and advanced applications of carbo
n dots and related photocatalytic systems\, including photo(electro)cataly
sis for sustainable energy and environmental remediation. Building on prev
ious editions under the Global Experts programme\, the workshop provides a
platform for in-depth scientific discussion\, theoretical modeling\, and
networking with leading researchers in nanomaterials for sustainable devel
 opment. \nConfirmed speakers: \nProf. Andrey L. Rogach\nProf. Andrey L.
Rogach is Yeung Kin Man Chair Professor of Photonics Materials and Foundin
g Director of the Centre for Functional Photonics at City University of Ho
ng Kong. He is internationally recognized for pioneering work on colloidal
semiconductor and metal nanocrystals for energy-related optical applicati
ons\, with over 550 publications and designation as a Highly Cited Researc
her in materials science.\nOrganizers\nProf. Michal Otyepka\nProf. Michal
Otyepka is Head of the Modelling for Nanotechnology Lab at IT4Innovations\
, VSB–TUO\, and Head of the CATRIN-RCPTM research division at Palacký U
niversity in Olomouc. His research focuses on graphene derivatives\, 2D ma
terials\, and carbon dots\, combining advanced computational modeling with
materials chemistry for applications in sensing\, catalysis\, and energy
technologies.\n Dr. Michal Langer\nDr. Michal Langer is a computational ch
emist specializing in the modeling of carbon-based nanomaterials\, includi
ng carbon dots\, graphene derivatives\, and low-dimensional interfaces. Hi
 s work centers on electronic structure\, non-covalent interactions\, and p
hotoinduced charge and energy transfer processes relevant to catalysis and
optoelectronic applications.\n\nThe Global Experts Programme is supported
by the Moravian-Silesian Region.\n\nFor transport\, accommodation see htt
