Kick-off meeting of the Global Expert project

The Global Expert project is starting in the Moravian-Silesian Region, the aim of which is to attract excellent scientists working outside the Czech Republic for a long time and to offer them attractive conditions for the implementation of their research in the Moravian-Silesian Region, thus contributing to the long-term growth of the quality and relevance of research in local universities. The first university involved is VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava, IT4Innovations National Supercomputing Centre.
Professor Andrey Rogach is a world-renowned expert in light-emitting nanomaterials, and he will establish a new research group focused on carbon dots at IT4Innovations in the next three years. Andrey Rogach studied chemistry at the Belarusian State University, then worked in Germany at the University of Hamburg, the University of Munich, and in Ireland at Trinity College Dublin. He completed his habilitation in Experimental Physics at the University of Munich and has been at the City University of Hong Kong since 2009. He is the author of more than 500 scientific publications, with an h-index of 137.
