The webinar is organised by the SPACE CoE and NCC Czechia.

Annotation

The talk is addressed to researchers working in the field of HPC as well as astrophysicists interested in plasma astrophysics and fluid dynamics in general. We aim to share our recent achievements with a larger community in order to foster discussions and possible solutions to common problems and implementation bottlenecks.

Language

English

Level

Intermediate, advanced; the talk is intended for experts in HPC who do not necessarily have domain-specific knowledge in cosmology and astrophysics.

Prerequisites

Some experience with programming.

Tutors

Andrea Mignone is a full professor at the University of Torino. He’s an expert on numerical methods for ordinary and partial differential equations and plasma physics. He has developed the PLUTO code for astrophysical plasma dynamics.

Marco Rossazza is a Ph.D. student actively working in the GPU porting of the code. Stefano Truzzi joined the project more recently, and he’s also involved in the new code development.
